
These ants don’t lie: you are what you eat! Dr Mohamed Babu from India mixed sugar water with edible pigments and placed some drops on a paraffin sheet. He left the sheet in his garden to attract the “psychedelic tiny creatures”, which couldn't resist the feast. Known as ghost ants, Tapinoma melanocephalum measure up to 1.5 mm long and have transparent abdomens that change colour according to the food they eat.
