Figs and papaya are effective remedies for constipation. For breakfast, eat one half of a medium-sized papaya. The papaya is an effective laxative. Other laxatives are figs, whether they are dried or fresh. Soak four or five dry figs in small amount of water for a night. Drink it in the morning.

There are a lot of home remedies to relieve constipation. It is a common knowledge that fruits are valuable cure for digestion problems. If you are constipated, however, you should never eat bananas as this fruit can make it worse. Pears are also found to be an effective cure for chronic constipation. Another thing is that while administering these remedies, you have to drink a lot of water. Drinking a lot of water when constipated is the most helpful thing you can do to your body when you are constipated.
